TikTok has been jumping off the Pritzker walls like crazy.
Renegade, Say so, Sugar, and Vibes. A few popular songs that Bryce Sandoval, a sophomore, and Sarahi Naravette also a sophomore had given. TikTok has become a very popular app, there’s 500 million users in use right now. Sandavol stated, “I wanted to become famous.” As the reason for downloading TikTok. While Naravette said, “I downloaded it as a joke because people were into it.” Two different reasons for downloading this popular app and yet two people relate to the same situation.
Naravette explained that she spends two to three hours on TikTok, which relates to the same amount that Sandavol spends his time on TikTok. Though, Naravette went on and said when she has no time towards screen time she only spends 30 minutes on TikTok. A tiktok watcher or creator spends on average 52 minutes on TikTok per day.
“Yes I get distracted from homework by TikTok, mostly it’s notifications,” stated Sandavol. Showing how much power TikTok has over Sandavol with just its notifications. Naravette also agreed that the TikTok videos were taking away time from her chores or homework. Which with this is distracting students even from their work from school and the duties they have at home to complete. Does this make you ponder if you’re addicted to watching TikTok videos?
Sandavol explained that he doesn’t consider himself an addict, “No because I can stop when I want to.” On the contrary, Navarette considers herself a TikTok addict. She also explained that she believes she is because she stops doing things or activities and it’s hard for her to refocus her attention to her school and house duties. Sandavol and Navarette went on and said some people she watches on TikTok. Some TikTokers are Charli, Avani, Chase, Anthony, and Jayden. They are popular on TikTok, and come up on some ads. Sandavol and Navarette also added on when they had started to watch TikToks. Sandavol started one year ago watching and making TikToks, while Naravette started around the start of summer just watching TikToks. TikTok has been up and running since 2012 as musically and then converted into TikTok in 2016. Since then TikTok hasn’t stopped growing its viewers and creators over the four years that it has been updated.
TikTok has been on the rise, catching audiences attention and drawing peoples’ attention to downloading the app in the first place. From everything said in this article it seems to look like… TikTok isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. For now it’s taking a staycation at Pritzker College Prep. Who knows for how long.
