“Sweetener” is an album created by modern pop, American singer Ariana Grande. This album was released on Aug.17. Grande demonstrates an ideal pop album with engraved details that show that the album represents a self-appreciation to her true self, new found love, and happiness. Grande was able to expand her vocal performance, and as a soprano, she also brings out a brighter tone and elevates her music structure in each of her albums.

Grande did face tragic events before creating and delivering this album. She experienced a terrorist attack during her performance in Manchester. Instead of being consumed with sorrow and tragedy she focused on being able to uplift with strength and love by restoring it with her new album Sweetener.

Moreover, this album includes a variety of songs that include romance, love, and drugs. One of her songs is named after her fiance, Pete Davidson. The Album also is involved with  contributing songs with other artists like Missy Elliott, Pharrell Williams, and Nicki Minaj. Some of the songs in this particular album do contain weird beats and lyrics that bring out cringey thoughts in mind, but overall most songs are outstanding and bring out a better newer side of the artist.

Ariana Grande was able to achieve to become one of the most consistent pop artist. Also, she was able to make both of her songs, “God is a Woman” and “No Tears Left to Cry” reach on the Billboard top 10 hits.

I would say that this album did have its moments, but in the end, with Ariana’s famous soprano vocals she was able to create a fantastic album. I would recommend listening to it although many others have disliked Ariana Grande’s music for her past shallow personality, but now she was able to develop better new upbeat music using a variety of different beats and tones. Although I would agree Grande needs to improve on her lyrics and be more open-minded about new and different types of lyrics.
