Snapchat: A worldwide app that no one can resist

When snapchat is opened, the home screen.

Snapchat is a worldwide app that many adults and teenagers use. The app consists of many fun-filled filters, a fleet way to communicate with friends or family, and great for sending private messages, photos, and videos. Snapchat was designed by three high school students, Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown. Snapchat is a way for everyone, of any age, to communicate with friends or family that’s nearby or far away.

As soon as you open the Snapchat app, a bright yellow screen with a white ghost pops up on the device you are using. Once the app is completely opened, you have three options to choose from: clicking the chat icon on the left hand side, snapping a photo or recording a video with the middle circle button, or the button on the right to view what other people post on what snapchatters call “stories.” Snapchat provides an opportunity for anyone to see what’s going on in the society that they are currently living in and any other places that people snapchat at. The mind-blowing feature  that Snapchat has is the timer of which you can choose how long someone can view your photo or video until it disappears, and the person you sent the video or photo to cannot view it any longer. The timer, however, only goes up to ten seconds max, so that means you have to take a quick glance at whatever is being sent to you.

There is never a day that goes by where you will not see someone on their phone using Snapchat. Snapchatters are everywhere including the following places: trains, buses, schools, jobs, churches, parks, stores, homes, etc. The app has so many fun-filled filters that you can choose from. There are even filters that you and a friend can both use at the same exact time, which people believe is pretty “cool.” If you aren’t a fan of filters, however, there is nothing to worry about because being “natural” is always a choice.

Snapchat offers quick speed connection that allows your messages, photos, or videos to be sent within seconds. It may not be believed, but Snapchat could also be used if there is a slight emergency because of the app sending messages at such a fast pace. However, if what you are trying to send doesn’t process at first, you can always click for a “retry to send” and the photo, video, or message will send with no problem at all. Unlike other apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, etc, the Snapchat app will rarely close on it’s own. No one can exactly make complaints about the app because Snapchat updates about once a month, or maybe even less than a month at times. In hence, the app is great for sending photos, videos, and messages in general.

Despite the fact that people say Snapchat is “useless” or “unnecessary,” Snapchat is actually “useful” and “assisting” to many others, including myself. Snapchat is a well- known app that will continue to become more popular around the world.
