The pritzker cross country team had a meet on Sep. 10. The meet took place at Horner Park, at nine in the morning, which was hosted by DePaul College Prep.
The Pritzker boy’s varsity placed higher than other noble schools. The men placed 6th and women placed 12th at varsity level.The two boys who got placed during this meet were Senior Ulises Bautista and Junior Angel Barrera.
The athlete most recognized from the pritzker for cross country team, which is Bautista placed 12th in the meet with the time of 16:51. Barrera placed 14th with 16:58. Junior Priscilla Bautista led the women’s team with a time of 22:26 in 28th place.
The park was full of fans supporting their runners. It was very exciting to see how intense and ready some athletes were. There were many of the players of the team who did not attend the meet.
Senior Rachel Avellaneda stated, “The girls ran their best and they really pushed themselves.” Avellaneda also stated, “The meet was very energetic.”
Bautista stated, “It wasn’t as competitive, but you still get nervous waiting for the guy to shoot the gun.”
To anyone who is interested in seeing how the team progresses, the team has meets every Saturday, but mostly in the mornings. Go on and see your friends compete against other schools.
