On Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Pritzker College Prep from 10:15 a.m to 11:15 a.m the Pritzker JV Basketball players play Baker College Prep. The players warm up by shooting some hoops for about 15 min. The game began exactly at 10:15 a.m. A lot of tension arrived at the beginning of the game. A free throw was made by the opposing team which started on a bad foot for the Jaguars. Although, the Jaguars kept pushing through the court but it wasn’t enough. The first quarter ends with a score of 2-21 with an advantage of the Baker bobcats. The Pritzker Jaguars do anything they can in order to obtain more points.  Baker pressures Pritzker and has a lot of turnovers.

At halftime the scoreboard is 6-29. Andrew Wetmore, basketball coach and P.E teacher, cheated the team on as well as those players that were in the bench.  Jaffet Bailon, a junior, was part of the audience and was intrigued by the game. Bailon stated, “I was surprised at how fast Baker actually was they passed the ball from one side of the court to the other side.” Bailon was interested in the game even though Pritzker was having a hard time getting in some points they did not give up quickly and tried getting more points in .

The struggle the players faced as they had the ball in hand but lost it quickly by the quickness of the opponent. Although there was cheering for the Jaguars they were easily discouraged when the opponent got in a point. The Baker bobcats quickly got ahead of the Pritzker Jaguars which led to the Jaguars losing at the end of the game with a final score of 48-17. Julian Harris, a sophomore and JV Basketball player stated “We could have had our team chemistry higher as being that instead of putting each other down we can push each other to move forwards. And by half of our team not getting injured easily but the most important thing is by listening to our two coaches because they have great things to say but it’s our duty to apply them on the court.” Harris has high hopes in the team getting back up and winning future games. He expects the team to work together better and have better communication as a team to be able to strive as a team. The team has planned to win other games in the future and become a more stronger team. A team that can hopefully rise to the top.
