“Amo” an album created by the English rock band “Bring Me The Horizon” was released on Jan. 25. The band members consist of vocalists Oliver Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls, and keyboardist Jordan Fish. This 13 track album was the band’s comeback from their previous album That’s The Spirit, which was released in 2016. The album was created to express the different emotions that come after heartbreak and the different stages of bagged mentality someone feels after they face trauma.

This new album demonstrates a variety of new energy and emotions. The band’s new album shows a connection between the band’s previous album. That’s The Spirit. The album shows a setting of death, love, tragedy, and an increase of identity or a form of rebirth within the group. The band’s lyrics and music contain deep meaning, which influences their musical performance and increases their music composition.

The Band’s sixth album Amo becomes their first No. 1 in the U.K.. Amo like most of the albums created by the band was able to reach high ranks.

The band did collaborate with some artists in their new album like Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes and American rapper Rahzel. With the addition of these popular artists they were able to release great new music with a whole new vivid and bold view, also by adding different beats and new sounds to produce more vivid and dynamic music.

The songs within the album contain a genre of Rock, Electropop, and Alternative rock.  The band’s tracklist is full of songs with lyrics that contain meanings involving unconditional love, tragic traumas, death, and rebirth. Each song in the album shows different new meanings. In one of the songs “In the dark,” demonstrates the emotional feelings of the leading singer Oli Syke’s after his divorce and learning that his ex had cheated on him. Other songs on the track like “Medicine” and “Mother Tongue” include a mixture of electro-pop and rock that create an uplifting vibe. Both songs also express the idea of the fragile boundaries that split between love and hate. These songs show not only significant lyrics but also contain strong and deep tunes that make you want to vibe and take everything in the album in. I would highly recommend this album to anyone that loves Pop and Rock mix type of music, as well as those who are huge Bring me the Horizon fans. I enjoyed this album, but there were one or two songs I did not like as much but would still recommend it. Some do not agree with the tracklist of the album because of its meaning and lyrics. People were able to express their disagreements and negative thoughts about the album on apps and websites like Reddit, Youtube. I think this album was a whole different perspective that was brought on by the band to express feelings and thoughts that their fans and audiences can relate to.
