“LUV vs. The World 2:” The wait was worth it

By David Mondragon ’21

The young rapper Lil Uzi Vert (Symere Woods), one of the most iconic rappers in the rap game, has just dropped one of his best works ever; this new deluxe version of the album Eternal Atake is the extreme success and exactly what all his fans waited for. The album includes various collabs with different artists, brings back 2016 Uzi, and the deep meaning behind the cover art.

This deluxe version of the album has a large range of other artists such as 21 Savage, Chief Keef, Future, Gunna, and many other famous artists. None of his previous albums had as many collabs as this has. The deluxe version of this album contains both the regular album and the deluxe version. The collaborations in the album were some real huge hits that were all on the top billboards. Lil Uzi Vert is a very loved rapper that loves to collaborate to show how all music is good. He has a very distinct flow but does not let that intervene when doing collaborations.

2016 Uzi

2016 Uzi is something godly. It was his prime years and the beginning of his career. He produced very iconic and hit songs like Money Longer and You was right. This was his best year and produced some of his best work. He later shut down because of label reasons and had been teasing his album since the performance at Rolling Loud. People were in dire need of him to drop music and the release of the album brought back so much nostalgia to 2016 Uzi. For die-hard fans, this was a very important thing as there was nothing from him in 2 years, and he tweeted out a very important thing that kept them awake at night. Such a long wait to get back only the best version of himself.

The cover of his album is so eye-catching and so meaningful to him. The cover art is so similar to Lil Uzi vert vs. the world. The albums are a continuation of each other. The thing is that on top of his head there is what seems to be his ex-girlfriend. The first album was about how good life is with her and all these great things. In this album, it is a continuation of him being broken. Throughout his career, he talked about him missing a key that would be the key to everything he needs and a door of opportunities. His ex-girlfriend has a key on her hand, which just blew all his fans away.
